Tonight Ms. Fabulous and I decided to change it up a bit. Instead of our usual decadent Thursday night out, we decided to be a bit more sophisticated this time and venture out an entire 1 block away from my condo. Our first stop of the evening was Tucker, a neighborhood establishment with the perfect fireplace for a cold evening such as tonight, to meet some friends for dinner. We drank some martinis, partook in some delectable food, and enjoyed the tunes of Chant, a local jazz/R&B duo whom we had met the previous week at a party. You know the evening is going to be good when they start out playing your favorite song of all times, Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" (boy, does that bring up some memories!). We got to talk a while to Jerry, the bass guitar player and founder of the local group Daddy's Chair, who is the epitome of cool, especially with the bright orange shirt he wore for the evening. They will both be playing at the Dallas Museum of Art on December 15th, and of course Ms. Fabulous and I will be in attendance.

Following our dinner at Tucker, the group decided to move across the street to Sunset Lounge for more drinks and conversation. This is where I heard the title quote of the evening. It appears that my Chinese Boyfriend has used the above to describe me and the ridiculous conversations we have had in the lab during the past few months. Then again, he has seen me at my best as well as hitting rock bottom in the relationship department, so I suppose the quote about me is apropos. "Live and learn"....that's all you can do, right? Anyway, I thought it was funny and had to include it on the summary of the evening's activities. Overall, we had a pretty tame evening out with some very cool friends and look forward to many more with them!
