A Night at the Library

It's been a very quiet week for me - I turned 29 and then I spent the following week working until about 10pm every night. I haven't even reached 30 yet and life is already going downhill! So, tonight I decide to take a break from the long hours and instead spend a few hours out on the town. Ms. Fabulous and I had planned for the last two weeks to be at the Dallas Museum of Art's Jazz in the Atrium series, but of course we were unable to get there until it was almost over. So, we opted for dinner at a new Italian pizza place in The Mondrian that Ms. Fabulous's friend Luigi from Bologna had been telling her about. The pizza was excellent, and was made the "Italian way" especially for us thanks to our Italian friend. We did however forget the bottle of wine at this BYOB place.

Our next stop was a little haunt of mine from medical school days - The Library at the Melrose Hotel. This was the scene of some memorable events in my life as well as numerous hilarious stories of me back in the day. Anyway, tonight we were looking for somewhere cozy where we could share stories of the week and what more perfect place then at the bar with a little piano and jazz. Besides, Ms. Fabulous had never been to the Library. We opted for Grey Goose Chocolatinis in honor of our recent martini party and shared silly stories of college and medical school days throughout the evening.

The evening then took us back to Sunset Lounge Restaurant to meet my neighbor, The Kid. The place had to redeem itself to Ms. Fabulous, since the last time she was there it was standing room only. The evening was long, but definitely fun and was a well-deserved evening out for me!
