We have been talking about going to Times Ten Wine Cellars for a while now since it was recommended by a friend of ours. The hold-up has been that Ms. Fabulous isn't a big fan of wine. In fact, she rarely ever enjoys a sip. But, tonight she made an exception for a rare Girls Only night out. I should have known it would be a fun evening when the night started out like this:
Dr. Trouble: "Hey, are you driving?"
Ms. Fabulous: "No, I drive all the time."
Dr. Trouble: "But, you don't drink wine and thus you make the perfect DD."
Ms. Fabulous: "But I drive all the time....."
So, The New Yorker picks me up and the first words out of her mouth are, "If Ms. Fabulous doesn't drink wine, why am I driving?". Oh, our Ms. Fabulous can make our night interesting! We made our way down Gaston in the rain and found Times Ten to be utterly packed for the evening. As it turns out, a charity arts show and auction known as Chateau des Arts was being held there this evening. We made our way past all of the VIPs and found a seat at the bar, where we met up with some more girls and enjoyed a bottle of Syrah while mingling. We made our way though the show, and somehow even ended up on the pictures page on Lakewood Now (as if we don't already have enough pictures of us posted on the web!). Though I am currently collecting interesting art pieces to fill my condo, I didn't see anything that I just loved. Here are some pictures of us gorgeous girls:
We then decided that despite the tasty Mediterranean feta salsa and the Southwest hummus, we needed some real food. The second destination for the evening: Tipperary Inn. No one could decide between cocktails or beer and so I broke the silence when I ordered my usual Irish Coffee. I seemed to have started a trend as a few of the girls ordered that as well. We snacked on chips and salsa, spoke of crazy dating experiences, and enjoyed this rare occasion that we were not surrounded by all the guys in our lives (that particularly holds true for The New Yorker who has a harem of men!!!)
Here we are at Tipperary Inn:
By this time, The New Yorker and I had consumed a mixture of wine and whiskey and I was feeling guilty neglecting Robin Leach whom I hadn't seem much of lately due to our weird schedules. So, we called it a night. That leads me to the picture of the night....
Guess who ended up driving after all???
