Robin and Dr. Trouble = Vigilantes

In the span of one week, Robin Leach's condos were robbed twice. The first incident occurred on a Thurday night when a burglar decided to shatter a window, break into one of his vacant condos, and steal a drill. He apprarntly cut himself on the window and subsequntly bled on the floor and the banister. Luckily for us, the Dallas Police Crime Scene Investigators were able to collect prints and DNA evidence.

Several nights later, he was again robbed. This time they took something a little more vaulable - his Mac laptop. I have never seen Robin in such a foul mood. Granted, I would be too if all of my work was on a computer and it was stolen.

So, then comes the part that I find humorous. We contemplated throughout the week how to catch this thief. We thought about camping out at the condo while leaving bait for this guy to return. We thought about rigging an infared signal to alarm us of his presence. Robin thought about making it very easy to allow the guy to enter the condo, as breaking and entering warrants usage of a gun for self protection and we would have felt that our lives were in danger. We had all of these grand ideas that were supposed to be carried out this past weekend, assuming the guy was stupid enough to try for a third time. It was time to take the law into our own hands and be vigilantes.

In the end, our plan was never carried through. I fell asleep on the sofa, Robin opted to watch Battlestar Galactica and stay in for the evening, and the thief continued to prowl the neighborhood. Thus, we will have to leave it up to the Dallas Police Dept. to put an end to all of this burglary. Good luck with getting any of our stuff back!
