It was that time of the year again - time to celebrate my birthday and this year was special because it was the big 30! As it turned out, The New Yorker's 30th birthday was around the same time so she joined in on the fun this year. And, as to not be excluded, Ms. Fabulous celebrated her Super Sweet 16 and Lerxst joined in for a welcome back to Dallas. The venue this year was The Bryson at City Place, which offered a party area and patio with downtown views. Here is the first picture of us for the evening. We named ourselves the "Precious Metals" since we wore gold, silver, and bronze respectively. Lerxst, not owning anything metallic, opted for black for the evening a.k.a heavy metal.
As usual, we got some of the best bartenders in Dallas to shake martinis for the evening. Not only can they make whatever martini you can think of, they have a few deadly concoctions of their own as well! Tanya and Donia know they have a standing invite to all of our parties. The menu for the evening included to popular Pomegranate Passion, the Malibu Rum Ritzy Reindeer, the Chambord French Kiss Oh la la, among others. The Peppermintini was probably the least popular, but I always insist on keeping it on the menu!
So, here are some party pics of the evening. Since I was the photographer, the pics are somewhat skewed towards me but I will be adding more throughout the day. I think everyone had a great time - we made 100s of martinis, mingled with all of our eclectic friends, and somehow managed to find our way home at 4:30am. All in all, a successful party without incident.
Thanks to everyone who helped out to make this event possible. And, special thanks to Robin Leach as he put up with my bitchiness this week when I was in Martha Stewart event planning mode (I don't think he has ever seen that side of me!) Most importantly......Happy Birthday to me!
