Wild Wedding Weekend!

I'm finally back in town after having spent most of the last week in gorgeous Boulder, CO for Robin's sister's wedding. We arrived a few days early to partake in all of the activities/parties and to get some much needed R&R. After a weekend in New Orleans and a grueling two months at work....I needed a break!

Of course we stayed at the St. Julien in Boulder, the best nicest hotel in the city. After spending one night near the Denver airport at an unnamed hotel that didn't even proved shampoo for its guests (honestly, I had never heard of no shampoo before!), we needed to step it up a notch. The parties started almost immediately upon our arrival, beginning with the bachelor/bachelorette parties on Thursday.

The bachelorette party started out innocently. We started out with a feast at Antica Roma on Pearl Street where I got to many some of the bride's college friends as well as her local girls. Everyone was awesome and within minutes, the champagne was flowing. After a few bottles of bubbly and artistic creations inspired by our penis cookie cutter (I'll spare you the pics of penis prosciutto!), the gang was ready to start the partying. Here are few innocent pics from dinner, censored heavily as to not embarrass any of us with our penile creations:

Next stop, Conner O'Neill's Irish Pub, for music, kamikaze shots and more partying as the evening was young. The story of the night was how a few in the group had met a waitress that had a tattoo of a mustache on her index finger. She could hold her finger up to her mouth and speak with an a deep voice with her moustache prop. Well, what do you know.....everyone in the party ended up with some type of Sharpie drawn disguise (see pics below). At one point in the evening, I was able to snap a spy photo of the bride-to-be exchanging information with an eligible bachelor. Hummm.....bribe material?
We then made our way to 'Round Midnight to dance. There was a brief detour along the way, as the doorman at Seven saw the bachelorette party coming and offered us free Kettle One vodka drinks. The last stop of the evening was finally 'Round Midnight, at which timed a promptly bailed on the fun and returned to the hotel across the street. I just can't party with these 20-somethings like I used to!

As for the bachelor party.....well, I received some various text messages throughout the night from Robin updating me on their adventures. They became much more incomprehensible once the tequila was opened! From passports being lost and pinatas filled with booze, to water balloon fights and mooning out on the lawn, the guys were a bit rowdier. Check out a short Video from the bachelor party here on YouTube. Robin did manage to make it back to the hotel, leaving the others to wonder at approximately 11:00am the next day where they had lost him!

Finally, the wedding day arrived. The event was held at Pastures of Plenty, an organic flower and vegetable farm outside of Boulder. The setting was ideal, with a beautiful landscape filled with flowers. The weather cooperated, sprinkling only briefly at the end of the ceremony. As for the ceremony, well, you know it is a fun wedding when the band play R.E.M.'s "It's The End Of the World As We Know It" as the bride and groom walk down the aisle as a married couple! I was able to meet more of the extended family of Robin Leach and to see many friends I already knew.
