Yet Another Night At Nobu

For the last few weeks, I have somehow found myself at Nobu on Thursday night. Usually I am there with friends, but I must confess that I have this very un-female trait and that is I enjoy going out alone. But, this night was a little different, as I really did have a legitimate dinner function at the Crescent Club next door and went to Nobu with Dr. Heart for a little nightcap.

Dr. Heart (he needs to be added to the list of characters) and I took our seats in the lounge and partook in our usual - scotch for him and some fruity drink for me. Tonight it was the Champagne 95, a lethal little cocktail I discovered a few weeks ago as I sampled the menu. Yet again, I somehow managed to be hit on by a gaggle of men as I sat there with Dr. Heart and, ironically, bitched about men!

This was the 3rd time that I have been at Nobu and it has been filled with a bunch of single men and an absolute dearth of women. I have two words for you....LUCKY ME! From the New York investment banker I met there a few weeks back that I frantically tried to get rid of by text messaging a special someone I am seeing to come save me (it didn't work because he didn't understand my messages), to the stock broker I met two weeks ago who insisted on sending me his weekly stock suggestions, my encounters at Nobu have been quite fun. Tonight was no less entertaining as an attorney came over to make his introductions about 10 sec after Dr. Heart decided to go to the restroom. They had been staring at me all night and Dr. Heart wanted to see what they would do if he left. I guess I am new to this whole dating scene (remember, it's been a while) because men are getting pretty forward with their numbers, random requests, questions, etc. I think they mistake me as some stupid Dallas bimbo, which is a part I can play very well. It is only after they have opened up a little that I drop the D-bomb on them - that is, the fact that I am a doctor. Anyway, the attention was fun as I love having my wounded ego built up a bit. We shared some drinks and some laughs, and of course I got a phone number. They were going to Medici afterwards for some more fun and I assured them I was on my way over there too after I said my goodbyes to my friends. Yeah right! The number ended up where I typically put them - in the trash. My days of picking up men in bars are over, but it sure is a hell of a lot of fun at the time!

From there, it was over to Nick and Sam's to meet a few people that I knew before calling it a night. Three establishments in one night is really draining and besides, I actually have to work in the morning.

The moral of the story: Now that I am single again, I love knowing that I haven't lost the ability to charm men and collect a few numbers on my evening adventures.

I am curious and dismayed at the lack of links to the Lerxstfiction and the Rogerhayes. Please rectify as soon as possible.

Thank you!
