Science is Fun!

Many of you wonder what it is that I actually do when I say that I am "going to the lab". Well, indeed, a lab actually exists and this isn't merely a ploy for me to get out of whatever it is you want me to do!
As it turns out, my Chinese boyfriend and I have been studying yeast metabolism and the regulation of the yeast cellular cycle for about a year now. The process is quite elaborate and hopefully, one day, well land my name in a famous scientific journal! During this time, we have developed a very intricate yeast fermentation machine (which happens to be a very expensive piece of equipment!) and put it to use conducting all of our experiements. However, when Chinese boyfriend read my blog and saw how much I liked to go out, he decided out next experiment would be to perfect the yeast fermentation process by making our own beer. Why not take science and apply it to everyday life by making beverages we can all enjoy?

We have spent many long hours developing and perfecting the technique and hope to have our first batch of beer in the upcoming months. Indeed, science is fun!
