A Christmas Tradition!

I always find myself in multicultural/multireligious situations for the holidays - in college my little group was composed of a Catholic, a Muslim, a Jew, and a Buddhist. In medical school, it was myself and the ex-fundamentalist Christian minister Karate Man. (Even though fundamentalism is "Christian", it is pretty damn foreign to me!). We decided on India Palace today for our Christmas lunch thanks to Ms. Fabulous (I don't know if she's Mexican or Indian.....maybe we should take a poll). The New Yorkers joined us as well, as we feasted on delectable Indian dishes and recounted stories from the previous evening. When various details were brought to the forefront of the night, our mutual reaction was, "Dear God!"

As usual, the rest of the day was spent doing my typical Christmas Day routine - watching all of the James Bond movies airing back to back on Spike TV. Today it was Thunderball, Diamonds are Forever, and The World is Not Enough.

I became a Bond fan thanks to the Albster. I mean, I had seen the new movies in the theater, but never all of the old Sean Connery and Roger Moore films. We once spent an entire Christmas break from college watching all 18 (there were only 18 at the time but now I believe there are 20!). He was such a big Bond fan that for his Duke graduation, his father bought him the Omega Seamaster Professional Diver, the official Bond watch.

Now, I use a James Bond character as my handle whenever I am on online dating sites - usually Agent Triple X. If you recall, she's the Russian secret agent in The Spy Who Loved Me who helps Bond destroy Stromberg's plot to create an underwater city. For some reason, people on Match.com and Yahoo personals seem to mistake the handle for me being a stripper! That leads to an automatic deletion of their emails, as they obviously didn't take the time to read the insightful things I have written about myself and looked only at the pics! If they realize it is a Bond character, they score extra points!

Tonight it is Octopussy and Never Say Never Again. Time to quite wasting time on the computer and tune into some James Bond.
