It's been a busy week - not because I am busy at work, but because every time Kevo comes back to Dallas it is a nonstop week of going out and hitting the 'ol medical school/internship hangouts. We did New Amsterdam and the Grapevine Bar on Tuesday. Kevo had rented an obnoxious H3 Hummer for the week and drove us around for the evening. Little did I know I would be stranded at the Grapevine as Kevo opted to stay out until after 2 am and forgot that us civilized people had to work in the morning. Thank goodness he gave us cab fare!
Tonight we opted for the Ginger Man Pub. By the time I arrived, I was well on my way to a good buzz. I had taken the new guy (whom I will now refer to as Robin Leach for reasons that are soon to be explained) to Javier's first for some top shelf margaritas and the infamous Filet Cantinflas. He deserved it as I had come home from work and found him installing a new kitchen sink for me as well as fixing a leak under the old sink that had been there for more than 2 years (Karate Man had obviously not fixed it correctly!). Dinner and drinks out was the least I could do for my own private Mr. Fix-it!
We met up with Kevo and company at Gingerman and Ms. Fabulous stopped by as well. It's hard to remember the details of the evening between Kevo saying 1000 words a minute and numerous bottles of Hefe Weizens at our table. And, everyone decided to gang up on your truly and ask me very difficult questions (i.e. what exactly is a ship in a bottle?) despite the apparent blur I was experiencing. But, it was a fun night and it was good to be back in the presence of Kevo whom I adore.
