Memorial Day Weekend 2006

While others are out celebrating this lovely weekend with family and friends, remembering all the heroes that fought for our country, and taking pride in being Americans, Robin Leach and I decided to have our own little Memorial Day celebration. This was right in the company of our own home, eating McDonald's and paying tribute to our own badass American patriot - Jack Bauer in season 5 of 24. What a great way to enjoy the day!

It was probably 4:00pm when we decided to officially start the day. The first stop was a little outdoor barbecue hosted by an ex-boyfriend of mine. Imagine that - me taking the current boyfriend to the home of the ex-boyfriend! Actually, I am friends with most of my exes, except when they decide to go psycho on me. We enjoyed turkey burgers and Bullfrogs, a quite refreshing combination of vodka and limeade. I highly recommend this drink for your next outdoor picnic. We stayed there until about 6:00pm, when Tootsie was due to pick us up.

We were then off to Ameriquest Field with Tootsie and her boyfriend to take in a little baseball action and some fireworks. The concession lines were unbelievably long (thank God I had already had about 3 bullfrogs), as Tootsie and I missed a good 3 innings waiting in line for food for our men (why didn't they get off their asses and wait on us?). Insult was added to injury when Tootsie, after having waited at least 30 min in line, was told that they were out of pretzels and she would have to go stand in the other long line at the next concession stand. I told her just to lie and tell her guy they were out and get him popcorn, nachos, or peanuts instead. Tootsie, showing her true love, said, "No, no. He wanted a pretzel and I will get him a pretzel." Somewhere around inning 7, she returned to her seat. You have to admire true love!

The Rangers lost, but it was a fun night at the ballpark nonetheless. After the game, Ameriquest Field hosted a spectacular fireworks show. Here are a few pics taken from our seats.
