I was able to manage to get off early on Friday afternoon. Unable to convince Robin Leach to get off early to go to the State Fair of Texas, I called up Lerxst and asked him if he wanted to go work the NY Times Crossword and get some coffee. I was wearing sweatpants and thus wanted to keep it casual. Somehow, and I don't know how, we ended up at Iron Cactus for margarita happy hour. We started out on a roll, each doing 3 clues as we passed the puzzle back and forth between us. The next thing I knew, I had consumed 3 margartias and was having to text message Robin Leach for answers on various clues. We had to quit at this point, as we started just filling any answer that could be remotely right and had the right number of letters.
By this time, the place started filling up with those just getting off work and coming to enjoy a post-work cocktail. Clearly, we looked unemployed! Anyway, the afternoon turned out to be a great impromptu happy hour!
