Medical Mystery: Ms. Fabulous Collapses After Returning From VegasShe claims she was ill from a "viral infection". She claims that she is in fact the "good one" when it come to my friends. She claims that the events that transpired had nothing indeed to do with a weekend trip to Las Vegas with The New Yorker filled with clubs, alcohol, and mayonnaise (don't ask!). I will leave it up to the reader to make his/her own final conclusion. Here is the story:Ms. Fabulous was seeing patients the day after her return. Right in the middle of a typical patient follow-up, she became as stiff as a board and leaned up
against the wall for support. Seconds later, she became diaphoretic and pale, and within moments was collapsing. Her life was saved by her attending physician, who was able to catch her and move her onto a chair. Kudos to him for actually saving a life! She awoke, confused about the situation, and was rushed promptly into an IV infusion center. Her blood pressure was low, 70/40 for those of you medically oriented. An IV was started, fluids were given, and Ms. Fabulous was nursed back to recovery. She diagnosed herself with SIRS (systemic inflammatory response syndrome) due to a viral infection. But, we know what kind of SIRS she really had (systemic intoxicated response syndrome)! Anyway, she was fully recovered by the next day and was spotted working out at the gym. It remains a medical mystery as to what happened, but thank goodness for the medical personnel who witnessed the events and saved her life!
