Countdown to Sailing


It's that time again....9 days and counting before we get back on Valkyrie (Robin has promised to make me co-captain on the website) and do some sailing on the Chesapeake. Robin has spent the last month ordering boat supplies and getting the necessary parts to get her in shipshape (literally!). And I, well I have been contemplating boat life and even considering the possibility of a move to the coast. Don't get me started on that subject as it is one that has been an ongoing debate between Robin and me with no easy solution in sight.

Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can depart the dilapidated wooden pier with missing planks that is supposed to be a marina. I fear falling though the planks with every step I take and don't even ask me about the time the whole dock flooded and I was trapped on the boat for hours at a time! Yes, hopefully we will be out in the water and enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the Rappahonock River and the Chesapeake Bay....as I lay out on deck, enjoy a trashy novel, and sip a tasty beverage!
