Twice a year, the Fashion Industry Gallery holds a sale for the general public called F.I.G. Finale where the area's top stores and designers offer great deals on their clothing and accessories. The event was kicked off with the exclusive preview party held the night before for at Central 214 in the Hotel Palomar where cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and previews of the great fashions were provided. Albster, always one to have uber-cool friends, managed to get VIP tickets to this exclusive event as well as early shopping passes for the sales. And, of course he called yours truly.
After a week of going out almost every night of the week just like old times, I was at it again last night sipping Tommy Bahama Rum cosmopolitans (yes, apparently rum cosmos do exist and I attest they are quite yummy!) and meeting some of the people that circulate in the Dallas fashion scene. I must confess this world is very different than the medical world my life has become centered around. And, of course, I was able to see a few of the various fashions that were being modeled. I tried to rationalize what items I couldn't live without (i.e new pair of sunglasses, another fun purse, little black dress) and quickly justified going to the shopping event the next day. Robin Leach will probably remind me how big my closet already is and that no new additions will fit! Here are a few pics of us from the evening:
After the event, we finished off the evening at Yutaka Sushi Bistro on McKinney, whom I heard had the best sushi in Dallas - apparently it has to do with the chef from Nobu leaving and opening his own resturatnt or something like that. All I have to say is that the black cod with blond miso was definitely on par with Nobu and about half the price!
