A Night Out on the Town

As mentioned in the previous posting, Lerxst is back in town for a few days for business and a little fun. Lerxst and I became friends several years ago when he was completing his MBA at SMU. He has always been there for me, comforting me many times when I didn't want to be alone and helping me pick up the pieces when the relationship with Karate Man ended. I can never repay him for his generosity. He then moved to Phoenix, but never forgets his two best friends in Dallas - Roger Hayes and me. Tonight was his night to take us out and to make the rounds at all of our old spots.

Our first stop of the evening was to pick up Roger Hayes at Christie's on McKinney Ave. Roger spent the afternoon watching football while Lerxst and I went out to brunch and then on a little shopping spree at Northpark Mall. Lerxst acted like there were no malls in the Phoenix because he bought $600 worth of clothes at his favorite store. A got a few fabulous outfits that are very "islandish" for the cruise and some beads to match. I told Tootsie she better get off her butt and go shopping because we are on the final countdown to the cruise.

Our next stop was The Metropolitan, a downtown restaurant where both Roger and Lerxst are VIPs and where we all know the bartenders. Lerxst wanted to meet some women tonight, and was upset about the lack of ladies at the Metro. I recommended he walk over to Fuse for a taste of the Dallas scene, but I didn't want to go because it had been a long week and I needed to have an early evening. We then decided to call it a night.

On the way home, "Mr. Jones" by the Counting Crows played on the radio and Lerxst and I sang at the top of our lungs. By this time, we decided we had gotten our second wind and didn't really want to go home yet. Ironically, we passed a new wine bar on McKinney at this very moment called Vino 100 and we decided to try it. Roger made his way over. After a bottle or two of a Lerxst selected Shiraz, we toasted to a wonderful evening amongst friends.

You omitted the part where we took Lerxst to a cult meeting in order to indoctrinate him to sell discount electricity!
