Monday Night Shaq Attack at Nobu!

It was Monday night and without any basketball games on TV to occupy our evening, we decided to go back to one of our old haunts - Nobu in the Hotel Crescent Court. The New Yorker, Ms. Fabulous, Robin Leach and some other friends set out for dinner and drinks, knowing good and well that this was going to be a long and fun night.

We partook in our usual - yellowtail sashimi with a smattering of other sashimi/sushi, mixed tempura, and our favorite entree' the Alaskan Black Cod with Miso (a signature dish and a must have for those of you who haven't been there). There is nothing better than enjoying a great Japanese meal surrounded by your awesome friends using chop sticks!

The highlight of the evening came when Ms. Fabulous made her way back from the restroom. Returning from the long walk downstairs, she came upon a group of people, specifically one rather large guy, that was blocking her pathway. She tapped on his side and politely asked, "Excuse me sir, may I pass?" Looking down at her was none other than Shaquille O'Neil, in town and ready to take on the Mavs in Game 6 tonight. He left shortly thereafter, before any of us were fast enough on the uptake to play papparazzi with the camera! (Imagine me selling my photos to a famous publication!)

Nobu was packed last night with celebrities. Sheryl Crow was also there, getting ready to play at Nokia tonight. She was sitting a few tables over from where we were at the bar. There were also various well-known ESPN sports announcers that were sitting right next to us. Obviously the gang doesn't watch ESPN very often as we failed to identify any of them. I didn't realize Nobu was such a celebrity hotspot on a Monday night in Dallas. Clearly, we will have to put Nobu back on the social calendar circuit!

Here are some pics of us from the evening:

The question of the night: how many Champagne '95 martinis can The New Yorker order in one sitting???
