When the Cat is Away.....

......the mice will play. The cat is Robin Leach, who is living it up out in San Francisco. The mice are Dr. Trouble, Ms. Fabulous, and The New Yorker ,a.k.a. Rachel, Nina, and Julie respectively, our aliases for the evening. Tonight was our night to seek out a little trouble. It began with a stretch limo, because as we say, "that's just the way we roll". It was a little sparse at first, but we were determined to fill the car up!

Our first stop, Mi Cocina at the West Village for dinner, Mambo Taxis (their deadly margarita/sangria swirl), and a little early evening buzz. Cookie joined as well, though she shied away from the pictures. We had the prime seat out on the patio, right on the corner with good visuals on everyone entering The Magnolia and all those on their way to Nikita. The New Yorker was engaged with her cell phone the whole evening, text messaging men I had never even heard of (how the hell does she meet all of these people???). Ms. Fabulous, Cookie and I caught up on work, relationships, and condo purchasing while enjoying our food on this unusually pleasant night.

About 10:30pm, we decided to have the limo pick us up and take us to The Republic on Hall Street for dessert. Actually, make that frozen cosmopolitans, the ultimate liquid dessert. I had not been to the The Republic in ages, ever since it was first opened buy a gay couple that was friends with Ptex. The clientele has changed, becoming more Uptown-chic, but the place is the same. We outraged the bartender by changing our drink selections over and over before finally deciding on the frozen Cosmos. And then we were off to the patio for a little Nina, Julie, and Rachel action! The men were cheesy, and we found a dearth of interesting people. From the guys who drove over from Mesquite who asked if the The New Yorker knew their friend Jane Smith in Manhattan (how many people live in that city???) to the guy who followed us in from the parking lot, the men were not exactly what we had in mind for the evening. Thank goodness we were going by our pseudonyms for the evening! So, we headed back to the limo.

We made our way back to the Albertson's parking lot nearby where our chauffeur was waiting. The New Yorker couldn't help but make herself useful to the Albertson's parking lot attendants as she took it upon herself to put the shopping baskets in their correct spots. What a nice girl!

We don't really remember where we told our driver to take us next, but somehow it involved a jungle motif. The next thing I know, The New Yorker and I were climbing the trees and trying to shake coconuts free.

It was a great girls' night out. Nina, Julie, and I were in rare form, which was to be expected since it had been a long time since we had all hit the town together. But, at the end of the night, I realized how much I missed Robin Leach.

Our next event: Labor Day Pool Party/Margarita Splash. This is the continuation of our promise to host bi-annual parties. The invitations are on their way!

Question of the Night: Does Ms. Fabulous have an ass? She was told that pants with pockets help to accentuate the ass. Is this correct?
