For some reason, this year has been filled with friends moving away and the ol' gang disintegrating. Roger Hayes made his exit last year, though I still think he might show back up in Dallas at any moment to take over Mandelbrot Enterprises! Next, it was The New Yorker returning back to New York to become Pimple Popper, M.D. (isn't that what Jerry Seinfeld called dermatologists?). And now, Lerxst has decided to pack up and move to the Big Apple to further his banking career. Well, at least that is what he tells us! We seem to be in the dark about what it is Lerxst actually does. I was even out with Lerxst one night when he met a woman who was convinced he was a spy and not really a "banker". Hummm.......I mean, he speaks Arabic, he was a prior "interrogator" in a military division and his employment has always been through intermediary companies.....sounds like a spy to me! Nevertheless, Lerxst is leaving and I am left without another happy hour friend.
So before he officially left for NYC, he planned one last hurrah which entailed brunch, beer, the Dallas Cowboy game versus the Washington Redskins, and, most importantly, saying good bye to old friends. I could not have wished for a more perfect day as we dined at Ozona and then made our way out to Texas Stadium for the pre-game activities. Lerxst even managed to pick up a date along the way!
Here are a couple of pics from brunch at Ozona, the game, and our post-game sake fest at Tokyo No Hana on Greenville.
Lerxst set out for New York City the next day - hopefully he made it in one piece. I'll have to go see him and The New Yorker after the New Year and update everyone on how they are both doing. Anyway, farewell Lerxst!
